About Assistant Professor Hamel

Professor Hamel’s research sits at the intersection of ecology, water systems and cities. She studies how natural infrastructure like wetlands and forests can support more resilient and inclusive urban development, particularly in Southeast Asia. She is also the Principal Investigator at the Earth Observatory of Singapore, where she leads research on climate resilience, sea-level change, and geospatial risk modelling.
